Preschool Alphabet: R is for Resurrection

R is for Resurrection= Jesus lives!
Preschool at home ideas and printables!
This week we talked about Jesus and His death and resurrection. I wanted to key in on Jesus rising from the grave to return to God in Heaven. The scripture I used is Matthew 27 & 28.

I used the slider for this lesson, and the first picture is the stone in front of the tomb with the Roman soldiers guarding it. After Jesus died on the cross, He was placed in a new tomb (John 19:41), a big stone was rolled over the entrance and there were Roman soldiers guarding it. (27:66)
(Slider pic #2) Three days later, on the first day of the week (Sunday), there was an earthquake! An angel came and rolled away the stone and the soldiers were so afraid, they fainted! (28:4)
(Slider #3) The angel was dressed in white and told the women not to be afraid, he knew they were looking for Jesus. But, He is not here! He has risen! (28:5-7) (I also used the glow-in-the-dark crosses from Oriental Trading.com)
Jesus was alive again for 40 days and spent time with His Disciples telling them about the kingdom of Heaven. (Acts 1:3) Jesus talked about baptism and told them to be witnesses for Him. (Acts 1:8) And, as they watched, Jesus was taken up into Heaven to be with God!
Cut the cave as a rectangle to give enough support for the slider to move and not tear the cave.

They painted the rainbow picture that is in the download.

Also, we used R is for Rainbow, and she loves this file folder game! Click on the picture to see it.
The maze takes Jesus through His life and was a review for what we have studied.
There are always other printables in the alphabet packs which includes several pages like R is for Rabbit, etc. and not necessarily from the Bible. There are always retelling cards to print and let them tell you what they learned about the Bible. And, there are always one or two pictures to color of the Bible facts for each letter.
Some R books from the library, and the What Makes a Rainbow in the bottom right is really cute!
A couple of other R books, and they love Planting a Rainbow! R is for raccoon, and The Kissing Hand should be pictured!

All visuals are not shown. These are updated as shown.

    1. Thank you! But, if you make it, remember to cut out like a rectangle, because it needs the extra paper to support the sliding.

    1. Thanks for the comment. I found it on Amazon and here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CHI370/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have to mention that I snipped off the halo on Jesus and painted the back of His head for His hair to match. I also took the wings off the angel and painted the top of the angels outfit so his hair didn't make him look like a girl. I plan to use it in Bible class.
