Armor of God: Shield of Faith

Friday, April 22, 2016
When I taught the 3 year old class about Jesus Heals the Centurion's Son, I made a helmet and shield for them to wear (and take home) as a hands-on review. I decided to create more printables because I have mostly boys this year and of course they will love the weapons!
This post has an assortment of shields that you can print or enlarge for various ages.

This is a replica of one of the basic shields (and is what I have and I used to create these shields) that the Roman soldiers used. It is simplified for Bible class and because this black & white template can be enlarged. I purchased red poster board and enlarged the template to make 2 shields from each poster board. This could also be enlarged to make a full size poster board shield to use as a teacher's visual. This can be printed as is for preschool ages.

The directions are not included to add the handle for this since I designed it to be used for enlarging. See the last download for instructions to add a handle to the back.

This shield is the same as I used for the Centurion's Son that Jesus healed. I just changed the graphics to be used for the Armor of God. This is a full page printable and is great for preschool. The color and black & white are both included. Click here to download.

  3. What a wonderful lesson! The take home stuff is valued so much by children. My sons still have items from two years ago from some of their Sunday School lessons! Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week :)

  4. Hi Debbie, I just found your site. It has great activities for children. Thank you for sharing.
I was looking for an email address to contact you personally, but I couldn't find one.
May I please have permission to use this material with a large group of children, not just a small Sunday School group?

  6. Hi Debbie. I thank you for all of the hard work that you obviously have put into this site. I have gotten so many ideas over several years. I have printed the pieces of the Armor of God for a bulletin board. I cannot find the Breastplate of Righteousness or the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace. These are the largest visuals. Could you help me please??

    1. This is a set of extra-large armor pieces that will need to be printed, cut out and pieced together. There is a small photo of each piece completed to help. Download it @ https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GwsrgxyPPruvCBhhWcrL2tLp-0PzyXXw/view?usp=sharing
