Bible Oil lamp Visual

I plan to set this Bible lamp on a mini table my husband made for a VBS display for my classroom, but I actually saw this Genie Lamp at Oriental Trading  before I started VBS visuals. (These are on Amazon and eBay also, but with free shipping, this was the cheapest)
I figured it was worth the money to try it, even if it didn't work! The first thing to do is twist and wiggle the base off the bottom of the lamp. It has a stem holding it on, and my husband used his sander to grind the stem off. It will sit flat once that is removed. (See bottom picture below.)
My husband squeezed the connectors of the top lid to remove it. Then, he clipped off the hooks that held the top on. He sanded the little indent smooth (see top picture above).
My husband lightly sanded the whole lamp, and used the spray paint. This was the closest to Terra Cotta I could find.
Once it was dry, I printed out the flames onto cardstock and cut them out. I used Aleene's Tacky Glue to glue two rounded sections just along the edge. I lightly bent them, then glued those sections together to make the four sections as one flame. I used a small piece of foam that fit into the flame hole. I opened a paper clip ☺, straightened it up a little, and inserted one end into the foam, and pushed the foam into the hole. Then, I put the other end of the paperclip up into the center of the flame. Bend it to look like mine, and you are done! (You can use a strong wire in place of the paperclip.) 3. I have one of these lamps that I used in an object lesson. I don't know if I want to take it apart but I love this one you made. I may order another so I can have one of each. Thanks for the inspiration. I love your Bible decor!
