I would like to bring ...Hello, thanks for visiting. I would like to bring your attention to Acts 2:38 where it plainly says baptism is for the remission of sins. (NKJV)
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 22:16 And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
Also, a statement about tithing. 1 Cor. 16:2 states On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. So, we know to give on the first day of the week and to give as we prosper.
Then, in 2 Cor. 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. We are again told to make a plan to give and to be happy to give back to God. Tithing falls under the old law in the Old Testament and we are not told how much to give.
Bible Fun For Kidshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14187787152150485982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074723376809343259.post-11622737787555478712018-01-09T09:42:49.320-06:002018-01-09T09:42:49.320-06:00Love your ideas. It is a picture to all that christ is now who we follow. It has nothing to do with our salvation. If it were a "requirement" for salvation, we would be adding a "work" in order to be saved! Jesus DID ALL THAT WAS REQUIRED FOR OUR SALVATION . What a weak savior we would have if he saud, I died for your sins. Now all you must do is trust in me AND go do something else to finish what I started. Yes, baptism is our first act of obedience but not being bsaptized is no more damning than when we fail him in other ways like not reading the word or failing to tithe as we should. We are not saved by ANY ACT ON OUR PART. Even the faith we have is not our own. Thank you for allowing me to write.❤Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074723376809343259.post-68231854792186552112017-07-05T14:01:05.402-05:002017-07-05T14:01:05.402-05:00Thank you so much for freely putting your material...Thank you so much for freely putting your materials out here on the internet. This summer I'm teaching preschool Bible Class and I wanted to work through Acts---we rarely cover these interesting stories. During the school year I'm a first grade teacher at a private Christian school. I knew we were kindred sisters when I read the part about the emphasis on baptism in many stories in Acts! :-) I also have been teaching a long while, since my kids were little (about 20 years now). Again, thanks for sharing!
-----Jenny in TexasAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17054503475885895347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074723376809343259.post-5154227612185626772017-06-24T20:31:42.364-05:002017-06-24T20:31:42.364-05:00wow- thank youwow- thank youLouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03223063533751658228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074723376809343259.post-24627025795892015522013-11-04T19:33:10.767-06:002013-11-04T19:33:10.767-06:00Hi, thanks for stopping by. I was wondering about the clean and unclean food poster. Was an octopus considered clean under the Old Testament law? I noticed it was in the clean category. Maybe I misunderstood or looked at it incorrectly.Leahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17102477408913585089noreply@blogger.com
