Moses Extras

https://www.biblefunforkids.com/2021/08/moses-extras.html

My daughter taught Wilderness Escape VBS this summer and asked for some fun, quick & easy extras to add to the lesson. These are some of what she used for Moses Parting the Red Sea and God Provides Manna and Quail.
Some are repeats of what I have posted before. But, I thought they might be new for someone, and these are updated, of course. She did not do any of the decorating, so there aren't photos to show. I did decide to include links for the lessons and visuals she used. Danielle likes to have lots of hands-on and application take home projects.

The first lesson was Parting the Red Sea.

Danielle used this

I purchased 2 yards of brown fabric to be the 'dry ground'. I bought 4 yards of the blue fabric for the water. Sew one edge of the blue together with the brown lengthwise as shown. Fold and sew edge to stop fraying if needed. This will also help support the edges if you need to attach it to a wall. The best way to use this, is to lay the brown flat in a place where the students can freely walk in one side and out the other. I toss shells on it like a sea floor for them to pick one up on their way across. Before class, I lay it out, add the shells, lay one side of the blue over the brown, then lay the other blue side on top. If I have one assistant, I staple one of the blue sides up on a wall so we only have to hold up one side. The blue fabric can be slightly shaken as the students walk across the dry ground to look like waves. I fold it up and keep it in a jumbo zipper bag.

I couldn't find mine...so I made a new one! It is so easy. There are 3 sizes included with directions on the last page. These are glued back to back with a paint stick between them to carry it. Well, I usually use a paint stick, but I was in a hurry and didn't have one, so I used a thin piece of wood. Just make sure it is stiff enough to keep the pillar straight. I added cotton I saved from medicine bottles on the cloud side, and glitter glue on the fire side. That is an option.

Teachers make any changes according to ages/grades/students needs.

The second lesson was God Provides Manna and Quail.

Danielle purchased the 1/2 cup Ziploc containers for the students to put the 'manna' in. She used oyster crackers and Gummi Worms. I printed the God Provides label and put them through my sticker maker. That is so much easier than glue and they stay stuck! You can use any container that you find affordable, or use sandwich bags. The label can be used on anything you decide to use.

Danielle decided to set up the 'ground' with paper quail and manna for the students to collect. Because of Covid issues, she wanted the manna already in the containers. Printing the paper quail makes it affordable to use as handouts.
