Saul, David and Solomon Overview

https://www.biblefunforkids.com/2020/08/saul-david-and-solomon-overview.html
This is lesson ten in a 13-week series that I used in my class. I wanted one quarter to introduce the Old Testament with a basic timeline of the people and events. The students can learn what happened in the Old Testament and how those events lead to Jesus. These lessons are a combination of the Life Overview Series and other lessons. I will show you what I used to blend several posts into 13 lessons. You can change any to fit your needs.
This lesson introduces the kings. We learned about the first three kings of Israel: Saul, David and Solomon. They lead into the Kings and the Divided Kingdom in the next lesson. The lesson continues to explain the Big Picture. Keep in mind these lessons are slightly longer with very different application reviews. The visuals for this series have had a major update.

These are some of the posters included. Visuals are in the pack also.

I designed several crown choices for the review application. There is a list of review questions included. You can add or delete as you prefer. I used the last plain worksheet of crowns as the student answer base. I asked a question, we briefly discussed it and they put a jewel sticker on the correct king. Students can add a sticker, use a Dot Marker, or color the page with the jewels already printed on it. There is a set of crowns with numbered lines. Students can write whatever facts you want for each king. The jewel stickers are here or at Oriental Trading.

I also used this Bible Timeline File Folder Game. I made the pictures into stickers (which they love!) and the students added to it each week. Even though we studied Jesus and Acts after this quarter, rather than removing any pictures, I printed those pictures already on the page along with a couple that we wouldn't have as it's own lesson.

Click here if you want to print the one I used with some of the pictures already in place. This includes the completed teacher's visual also.

The original file has a teacher's visual completed. and a student file folder without any pictures on the timeline. All pictures will need to be cut and glued or made into stickers to use.

  1. Wow! I just found your site, and i'm excited to use some of your resources for my Sunday School class! I have a small class with a wide age range of new Christians (some kids, one adult). I've been trying to do an overview/timeline of the Bible, along with navigating the books/chapters/verses. I'm realizing just how many ways there are to try to teach through all that info! Thank you for all of this material!
