The last lesson was the resurrection of Jesus, and He returned to heaven.
I ordered the
8x8' resurrection background here. We loved it because once it was on the wall, it is complete! We didn't have to add anything to it. Because of space on the wall, some of the background was folded back and not used.
If you didn't know from my other VBS posts, I love the fabric backdrops! They are so much easier to put up than paper and so colorful. The kids (and adults) love them! AND it takes minutes to take down! Which is fantastic because you know how tired you are after VBS! Just pull a corner and pull down the rest of the background. Everything you staple on top will come off with it and it's so easy! Just fold, and I staple a small picture with the size on it so I can easily find it the next time. Because they can be used again and again! Best VBS find ever!

I ordered Jesus as
a poster print and it is a super nice vinyl. (Right click and save.) To get Jesus as large as I could for the money (28x40"), the arm will need to be attached. I used Eilleen's Tacky Glue, which is my glue of choice for any project. I
purchased these clouds to cover where His legs would be, because I wanted Him going up into the clouds, and added more clouds around Him so it all blended. Then I added the apostles looking up at Him along the bottom.

I put the review game questions a science board because I was out of walls in the classroom (or use a poster board). There are lift-the-flap
clouds with the questions under the lift-the-flap. Divide students in
half and let one from team #1 lift a flap. If they don’t know the answer, they
can get help from their team. Then someone from team #2 can repeat. Continue
repeating. An option we used was to glue the number on the top of the lift-the-flap cloud and let the student pick a number from a container and answer the corresponding number from the question board. FYI: I designed the question clouds for easier cutting. When you fold them in half, you will be cutting the top and bottom pieces at the same time. When it is folded back so the question is on the inside, the top and bottom will match. You can use the buzzers and the page of questions if you want an option.
The basic lesson is written so teachers can change it to suit the ages of their class. Although, if you need five lessons, this addition can be used as an extra lesson. I kept the same concept discussing Jesus' death, resurrection and Him returning to heaven. But I changed who Jesus spent time with. I added a
fire in the middle of the floor for the kids to sit around and tucked
the fish from Jesus feeding the 5,000 into the fire. They really liked that! When they came into the classroom and saw the small additions, their faces lit up and they really enjoyed the lesson. We had goldfish (to represent the fish) and bread and napkins to put it on.
I used the above cloud science board game, but deleted the questions for the lesson that I didn't discuss. I added questions for Jesus having breakfast with His disciples on the shore on the back of the fish cards. I laid out blue felt for water, added a fish net, and threw on the fish review cards. The numbers are for the questions I used on the science board. They could pick a card to answer the question. You will need the cloud science board from the previous download; or I included clouds with the questions that can be spread out with the fish questions and can be cut out and turned over.
