This begins a year of preschool curriculum for a preschool class I am assisting with for Wednesday night Bible class. These posts will have the lesson, visuals, ideas and printables like the full lesson posts for early elementary. This is the first lesson in the first quarter studies of Genesis (1.1).
I used these updated visuals to teach the Creation lesson. This set lists what God created each day. These can also be used for a bulletin board. We used these to sing the Creation Song.
Genesis is
the first book of the Bible and is where we will find all about when God
created everything (Genesis 1-2). The Bible has two parts: Old & New
Testament. The very first thing we learn is in Genesis 1:1 (Read & Repeat)
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Before God
made everything, there was nothing. Then, on day 1, God separated the light
from the darkness. God called the light Day and the darkness was called Night.
On day 2,
God made a great area to separate the water. It was the sky and God called it
Heaven. On day 2, God created water & the sky.
On day 3, God
put the water in one place so the dry land appeared. He called the dry land
Earth, the water that was gathered together God named Seas. God saw that it was
good.
Now that
there is dry land, God decided that there needed to be something growing there.
God made the flowers, grass, plants and trees.
Next, on day
4, God created a greater light for the day and called it the sun. And a lesser
light for night called The moon. God made the stars also. And God saw that was
good.
On day 5,
God wanted the water to have lots of creatures living in it. He also wanted
birds to fly in the sky. God made the fish and the birds!
On day 6, God
made all the animals, from the big animals like a giraffe, to the little creepy
bugs. Think of all the different kinds of animals there are! God saw that it
was good.
On day 6,
God also made the first people. God made Adam first. Then, God made a woman
from Adam and called her Eve.
On day 7,
God rested. God made everything in just 6 days! Count to six with the students.
I had
different pictures of things God created. For review, we laid out the numbers
and discussed what day God made each picture and laid it on the number.
This is the first lesson we have with a new class. We have the class on Wednesday night for a year. So, I kept the project simple. You can also add more time and review with this by adding stickers. I printed the number sheet on cardstock, but it can be printed on paper. I cut the graphics before class and used paper clips for each day. We handed out each day as we reviewed, instead of giving them the six different days all at once. Click here to download.
After a prayer and some songs, we begin the lesson with these Fact Cards. See more about them here.

There are several ideas and printables for Creation here. There is a cute song that they love! They learn counting and that God created their fingers and toes also!

Very cute. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think these are a great idea and I can definitely use these with my nephew when he gets older.
ReplyDeleteThis is great for my Toddler class! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove this for my pre-school Wednesday night class! Complete and perfect!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS!!!! Printed for my preschool aged kids! We are learning it at home. I sort of just made up my own tune to this song....do you use an actual tune from another song or is it just a mama wing it type of song
ReplyDeleteThank you! The kids love this song! The Tune for God Makes Rainbows is "Frere Jacques".
DeleteThank you so much for all the time and effort you put into all of these lessons! We are a small congregation with limited funds and I am using your lessons and ideas to create a resource room for future teachers. I am, however, having problems with this one as I cannot find where to download the lesson or visuals for this age. Am I just overlooking it? Again, thanks for your generosity in allowing us to use your ideas and creativity!
ReplyDeleteI apologize...the previous comment was supposed to be on the early elementary site about Genesis. I was able to download this one.
ReplyDeleteSorry to say, but most of the older posts do not have the lessons or visuals with a download link. Although the new lessons have the downloads. I just haven't had time to add them to the older posts. If you can leave a comment on the ones you want, I will add them. The early elementary Creation lesson and visuals can be downloaded in one PDF @ https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BBx2TOQKKAg9a2-rLAxz2Pfrrg9-NF-N/view?usp=sharing
DeleteAs a retired Baptist pastor, I think your lessons and drawings are fabulous. God has certainly blessed you and I pray that he continues to do so. Thank you for your work. Feel free to visit my site at www.boblankford.com. I am also an author and only now beginning to write children's books. I currently have available on Amazon my first book called "The Christian's Toolkit." I am currently in the process of writing a children's edition of the same book.
