Bible ABC's: S is for Salt
Lot's Wife Turned into a Pillar of Salt!
This briefly discusses Abraham and Lot moving and Lot's choice of land by Sodom. The main lesson is the angels visiting Sodom and Lot and his family leaving.
These lessons can be used without the alphabet theme.
Consider these an update with new ideas and printables!

Kids love Flip Books and Event Spinners, and they are easy to make and use! Color and black & white are included. There is a Venn Chart included (not shown) to use as a discussion starter. For instance, things God wants us to do on can be written on one side, and the consequences on the other.

There is an alphabet picture code and a number code included. The last worksheet is Who did it? There is a description for each person. The students will cut out the people and glue them to the correct description.

I designed the Trip Strip to be a cut & glue timeline. This one shown has lines for the students to write about each event. Or they can write the scriptures. There is another worksheet without the writing space. These can easily be used for mixed age groups. Cut and glue according to directions.

The Lord said, "I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward. Genesis 15:1b

These printables can be used for this lesson and any other appropriate lesson and were kept plain intentionally for this purpose. This key verse was chosen from Genesis 15:1 to use for discussion, memory work, and copy work. Students can color or paint the designs on the banner, door hanger and bookmark. Stickers can be added. String or ribbon can be added to the banner to hang and on the bookmark.

These Event Cards can be used as smaller visuals and they can be shuffled for the student to re-tell the events and lay them in order. The same full-page size visuals and pictures-to-color can be downloaded below.

There is a one-page foldable book in color and black and white.

This file includes visuals for the introduction of Abraham and Lot and their move to Canaan, then their separation with Lot living in Sodom.
(These are not included in the application pack.)

(These are the same as the visuals but are black & white.)

So, this is a really old idea but a really good one!

I saw this at the Teacher's Bible Class Workshop but didn't get a picture of it. I didn't spend a lot of time making it perfect, since I might not ever use it.  But it is a great idea if you teach Old Testament. Genesis 19:12-26 is Lot's wife being turned into a pillar of salt for looking back.

This is a Mrs. Butterworth's container. I (my husband) sawed off the top and I rubbed sandpaper over it to make it tacky. I used 'Pottery Plaster' or Plaster of Paris (find at any craft store or Amazon) and covered her all over. Once it dried, I spread Aleene's Tacky Glue all over and poured on the salt. I used regular salt, but a coarse salt would look better. I suggest plugging the hole on top and finishing it with the plaster to cover.
