Thank you to Jeanne Dickson for permission to copy (as close as possible with the resources I have available) and share these ideas and printables!

Application: Ananias and Sapphira covers many qualities, good and bad - love, sharing, pride and lying. I wanted to use candy or bubble gum coins, but couldn't find any, so I went with chocolate hearts. Each child had a bag filled with five hearts. Jeanne told how the early church showed their love by sharing what they had with those who had not.

The little red box was Jeanne’s box, but it was empty. They had chocolate, but she had none. After telling how the Christians shared with others, I suggested they might want to share with me. I left the box open on the table, closed my eyes and stopped up my ears so I couldn't hear if candy was being placed in the box. Afterwards, without looking, I asked each of them if they had shared some, all or nothing and wrote it on the board. Without checking I continued on with the lesson of how Ananias and Sapphira, filled with pride, lied about what they had shared.

After the lesson, Jeanne asked to see the kids' bags of candy, so she could compare what was left in their bags with what they said they had shared. Two said they had shared some, but one little girl said all. Jeanne was very happy to find out that they all told the truth. They all got to take their full bags home with them - no punishments needed.

The Newsletter Foldable can be used as a review handout, sent in the mail or in an email, especially for those unable to be in class. The same lesson is included for the teacher.

This is the inside with the lesson and pictures. On the outside, Jeanne adds notes and assorted items. She might add a Bible verse, memory verse, a Bible song or two, a picture to color, a reward reminder and/or notes about class and hello to students. You could add a puzzle, maze, worksheet, whatever you prefer.
