God Makes Rainbows Song

Thursday, February 14, 2013
I found this really cute song at www.preschoolexpress and have been given permission from the original owner, Jean Warren, to use it on the blog! I am so excited! I have been singing this song with the kids I babysit for awhile, and they LOVE it! OK, so do I!

It is great to remind the kids what rainbows mean (His promise not to destroy the earth by flood again), and that God makes everything! Here is the song:

                 Tune: "Frere Jacques"
God makes rainbows,
God makes rainbows,
Way up high
In the sky.

They are red and orange,
Yellow, green and blue.
Purple, too.
What a view!

God makes rainbows,
God makes rainbows,
Way up high
In the sky.

They are made by God,
Shinning through the rain.
What a view
In skies so blue!

Isn't it great? Anyway, I, of course, glue the rainbows to large craft sticks and wave the rainbow around and way up high as we sing it!

This song has been updated with new rainbows. I was using this to teach about rainbows and wanted one with the correct colors. Click here to see the updated version with lots of new songs, ideas and printables for Noah & rainbows.

Thanks so much to Jean Warren!  Adapted from the song "I See Rainbows"

  8. thank you for sharing this! we are doing a unit on the colors with our little one and next week is the review week: rainbows. This will be perfect for us to sing. Our theme verse for the unit is Gen. 9:13, 15. "I put my [rain]bow in the sky...I will remember."
I agree that we should also be emphasizing the reason we have rainbows!
