Preschool at home ideas and printables for the letter V learning about David and Goliath and Victory and faith in God!
http://kidsbibledebjackson.blogspot.com/
This is a preschool version of David & Goliath found in 1 Samuel 17. There were two mountains with a valley between them. The Israelites were on one side and the Philistines were on the other side.

The Philistines had a champion on their side named Goliath. He was really, really tall and wore a lot of armor. Goliath shouted for the Israelites to come fight him! The Israelites were scared of Goliath! (I pushed the couches together and put a felt 'valley' between them. They stood on 'each side' and Goliath taunted the other side! They really had fun!)
(Armor found at Dollar Tree)

Jesse, David's father, told David to take some bread to his 3 brothers that were in the army. David told King Saul that he would go and fight Goliath. But, King Saul and his brothers said he was too young.

David replied that God protected him when he fought and saved the sheep from a lion and a bear and God would protect him from Goliath.

I made this visual for each group on their mountain. You can print the mountains and the grass, but to save ink, I used grass scrapbook paper I already had (or use fabric). I stacked up books behind the mountain and added green fabric to cover the books. The soldiers and David & Goliath could stand "on" their mountain. I found the soldiers at Dollar Tree.

King Saul's armor was too big for David, so David took his shepherd's staff, picked up 5 smooth stones from the brook and put them into his bag, and took his sling in his hand. Goliath saw David coming and shouted "Why are you sending this young boy to fight me? He can't beat me!" David told Goliath that he had the weapons, but David has God on his side! David pulled out a smooth stone from his bag and put it in the slingshot. He flung it at Goliath and it hit him in the forehead! It went really deep and Goliath fell to the ground on his face!

(I laid out blue felt for the brook and threw in smooth stones from the Dollar Tree. They picked out 5 stones and put 4 in their bags like David. For preschool, this was a good project, since they picked out a lot of stones, then I had them lay them out and pick their favorite one, then again until they had 5. They had to make choices and they had to count.)

We used slingshots I made for my Bible class and they flung marshmallows! I would say like David did, except David hit his mark!! I found the marshmallow idea here (from Pinterest, of course!). There is also a video and other ideas for you to check out.

There is also a huge David & Goliath you can print to make a poster.

And, of course because she loves mazes, there is a maze. David & Goliath start on opposite sides and meet in the middle. There are always other printables in the alphabet packs which includes several pages like V is for Vacuum, etc. and not necessarily from the Bible. There are always retelling cards to print and let them tell you what they learned about the Bible. And, there are always one or two pictures to color of the Bible facts for each letter.
Click here to download all the printables for Victory.
We read Pete the Cat Valentine's Day is Cool for V this week, and since it was Valentine's Day this week, we did several crafts including this door knob hanger you find here.
(We used foamy door hangers I found at Hobby Lobby with hearts on the top.)

  11. Yeah my kid’s also love to know more about Alphabets and shapes. Even they used to watch Discovery channel whenever there is any program on SEA world. Last week they brought some sea shells too from Phoenix kindergarten, where they came to know about shapes of sea shells and about other sea objects. Interesting things for kid’s!!
