ABC's in Acts: D is for Dorcas
Dorcas Lives!
These lessons can be used without the alphabet theme.
Consider these an update with new ideas and printables!
This is an Envelope House with Stand-Ups. The outside of the envelope is the outside of Dorcas' house. Turn it around and the inside of the bedroom in the upper room can be glued or laid on the center back. Peter, Dorcas and the widows will stand up and can be moved around to retell the lesson. The envelope can be folded up and everything can be tucked inside. The kids love applications like this! This works best if printed on cardstock. Color and black & white are included.
A fill-in-the-blank worksheet, secret code worksheet and a picture code worksheet are included with teacher's answer sheets.
There are three different mazes, a color-by-number and a word search with teacher's answer sheet included.

Be full of good works and deeds. Acts 9:36

These printables can be used for this lesson and any other appropriate lesson and were kept plain intentionally for this purpose. Students can color or paint the designs on the banner, door hanger, poster and bookmark. Stickers can be added. String or ribbon can be added to the banner to hang and on the bookmark.

To teach the students they can do good things for others, I have cards printed for them to design, sign and give to someone. They can make more if there is enough time, or they can take it home to finish. But I stress that they are expected to hand out the cards (or ask their parents to mail it), because it's not just a fun project. I expect them to tell someone they are thinking about them and made this card for them. I printed these on cardstock, and they are blank on the inside for the kids to design. I have stickers for them to add that are appropriate. Of course, these can be used for any lesson or activity that you want to teach thinking, praying and doing for others. Click here to download.
I designed the Trip Strip to be a cut & glue timeline. This one shown has lines for the students to write about each event. Or they can write the scriptures. There is another worksheet without the writing space. These can easily be used for mixed age groups. Cut and glue according to directions.
This is not included in the application pack. Click here to download.
These information Anchor Charts are included.
These Event Cards can be used as smaller visuals and they can be shuffled for the student to re-tell the events and lay them in order. The same full-page size visuals and pictures-to-color can be downloaded below.
There are alphabet mazes and worksheets included. These are half-sheets and can be used in Interactive Notebooks. Click here to see a free video on how to make and use Interactive Notebooks. There is a set of 5- and 10-piece puzzles.
