Moses Overview

Sunday, August 9, 2020
This is lesson six in a 13-week series that I used in my class. I wanted one quarter to introduce the Old Testament with a basic timeline of the people and events. The students can learn what happened in the Old Testament and how those events lead to Jesus. These lessons are a combination of the Life Overview Series and other lessons. I will show you what I used to blend several posts into 13 lessons. It was basically pick and choose and you can change any to fit your needs.
This lesson teaches about Moses. The lesson explains the Big Picture. I discussed the 10 Commandments with the application activity as part of the Old Testament overview. Keep in mind these lessons are slightly longer with very different application activities. All the visuals in this series have had a major update.
This is a life of Moses foldable. The first picture will be the front with the folds on the dotted lines. The second picture will be the inside and will be used last. It is printed on the front and back. I printed on cardstock. This is the completed one. There is another one with 6 spaces to add pictures as you teach. These can be cut and glued or made as stickers to use. The same visuals are included as full-size. The lesson is included.
I used this 10 Commandments activity as the application. There are several printing choices. The first (left) is the cover. The next two are full-page size stones. These same stones can be printed on one page. I printed the full size with the pictures already on the stones to use as a teacher's visual. I printed both stones on one page for the students and then printed the cover on the other side. I cut them as one stone and folded to look like a book. Although, you can cut them to be two stones if you prefer. The pictures are cut and glue or you can make them stickers with a sticker machine. Everything is included. There is a mini lesson for the 10 commandments in the lesson and application pack.
There is a matching Anchor Chart for the 10 Commandments, plagues Anchor Charts, the lesson and the mini 10 commandments lesson and visuals in this pack. Click here to download.
I also used this Bible Timeline File Folder Game. I made the pictures into stickers (which they love!) and the students added to it each week. Even though we studied Jesus and Acts after this quarter, rather than removing any pictures, I printed those pictures already on the page along with a couple that we wouldn't have as its own lesson.
Click here if you want to print the one, I used with some of the pictures already in place. This includes the completed teacher's visual also.
The original file has a teacher's visual completed. and a student file folder without any pictures on the timeline. All pictures will need to be cut and glued or made into stickers to use.
Thank you to Boo AKA Cindy Boothe for permission to share this photo and idea for Moses and water from the rock. She used Betty Luken Bible felts for the background for this diorama and a tabletop fountain. They used a dowel rod/stick to let the children pretend to be Moses 'striking' the rock. Click here to see the water fountain.
