ABC's of Jesus' Life: O is for Offering
The Widow's Two Mites
These lessons can be used without the alphabet theme.
Just consider them an update with new ideas and printables to teach the Life of Jesus!
These worksheets are application discussion starters. The first is in color and has an answer sheet. The second is black & white only. The two circles represent the two mites ☺.
This simple to use Coin Keeper is something they will love! This has the color and black & white. Add stickers to decorate. I used a 2.5" paper punch to cut the coins like this. Turn it upside down, remove safety cover, insert the paper and line it up to punch since you can see it.
Or, you can purchase small organza party drawstring bags like these or these or these and add fake coins to use. The links are just to give you an idea. The bags can be found at most dollar, craft and party stores. Oriental Trading has several choices for plastic coins. They have cute coin keepers, too!
There is a word search and a maze. The word search has a teacher's answer sheet and the maze is in color and black & white. The answer to the maze is on the last page in the file.
I designed the Trip Strip to be a cut & glue timeline. This one shown has lines for the students to write about each event. Or, they can write the scriptures. There is another worksheet without the writing space. These can easily be used for mixed age groups. Cut and glue according to directions.
The Trip Strip is not in the application file. Click here to download.
A couple of Anchor Charts for the lesson.
These Event Cards can be used as smaller visuals and they can be shuffled for the student to re-tell the events and lay them in order. The same full-page size visuals and pictures-to-color can be downloaded below.
There are alphabet mazes and worksheets included. These are half-sheets and can be used in Interactive Notebooks. Click here to see a free video on how to make and use Interactive Notebooks. There is a set of 5 and 10 piece puzzles.

There is a one-page foldable book in color and black and white.
These pages can also be cut apart and used as flash cards to put the events in order.

Click here to download the visuals.
(These are not included in the application pack.)

Click here to download the pictures to color.
(These are the same as the visuals but are black & white.)
These pictures to color can be downloaded here.
For hands-on, these replica coins or this bigger pack can be purchased to let the students see them as part of the discussion. Let a student (or students) be the rich and put a lot of money in and let a girl be the widow and put two into a replica 'treasury' while the other students are watching like Jesus and the disciples. They love acting out the lesson! Then, you can give the students coins to put in the collection during class to be put in during worship or for them to put in themselves during worship.
FYI about these coins: They are small and thin, about half an inch. But the bag is heavy and kids will love the sound they make when they are tossed together. Because of the cost, I will reuse them and not let the students take them home.
