God Makes the Savanna Animals: Lions

Monday, September 17, 2018
This is part of our preschool learning we did at home. It includes ideas that can be used at home to learn about the animals God created. *This is intended for home use or preschool (or kindergarten) classes. They are not intended for Bible class.*
These information posters I created are two per page with simple, interesting facts for early learners. They have real photos and are not numbered so you can shuffle them to use however you choose to. Click here to download.
These posters are two per page to save ink and in color only. They are real photos of animals in the Savanna. Click here to download.
To make these lion faces, I used a yellow paper plate from Dollar Tree. I used brown 12x18" construction paper for the mane. Lay the paper plate upside down in the center then move it towards the top about 3". Whatever looks good to you. If you see in the photo on the right, the mane is a little longer on the bottom. I drew the outside circle using the paper plate. But, when I cut out the inner circle for the face, I cut inside the circle (smaller than the circle I drew). That will depend on how much of a lip you have on your paper plate. They are all different. I left enough to glue the mane to the 'ledge' on the outside of the paper plate. I printed the face and cut it out. This was all ready for them to cut strips in the mane. Then they glued the face, ears and chin hair.

I decided to make this easy to use lion face especially for Bible class. It can be used instead of the above one, too. This is already to use. Just print and cut out around the outside oval mane. Students will cut strips as shown to create the mane. I suggest printing on cardstock or construction paper. This includes the color and black & white. Click here to download.
I also purchased these Realistic Safari Sticker Scenes. They love stickers!

They really loved these photo books!
I printed the matching photo picture cards and they put them put them in cheap photo books.
They had these cute zebra photo albums at Wal Mart of their Safari hunt.

We looked at these books from the library. This means this is what our library had available. If there is not a link, then it was not on Amazon at the time of posting. I suggest looking at your library to see what is available for free and if you love any of the books, then purchase them. Most of these are not really for preschoolers.

They loved Look Out Cub with the lift-the-flaps.
