VBS: 2. Samson ~ a Man of Faith in Hebrews

https://www.biblefunforkids.com/2019/08/vbs-2-samson-man-of-faith-in-hebrews.html
We picked 4 men that are listed in Hebrews 11: Joseph, Samson, David & Daniel.
See below for posters like this one, and lots more suitable for VBS or Bible class.
I tried to give a general background of each person as an intro before each lesson.

This is the wall I did for Samson. I kept the walls as easy as I could this year and purchased backgrounds ready-to-use when I could. This background was by Group made for VBS and is huge! It covered the whole wall with extra! This is the temple with the boy that helped Samson. The columns I had weren't tall enough, so I added the stairs. Samson is off to one side because there is a whiteboard on this wall and I couldn't staple him anywhere else. I had the decorative stand-up urns with ferns from last year and the clay pots are used every year to add a pop of color.

Just look at how much fun they had with the application game! We were all grinning just like this! Donnita is a nurse, and the application she used was perfect. She talked about their body and their strengths. What do they think of when you ask about being strong? They made muscles and felt their muscles. That was funny ☺! Then, she talked about their inside strength. Their heart. And doing what God wants. "By faith..." each Bible person in Hebrews 11 obeyed God. Then, they acted out Samson in groups of  three. The two outside people were the columns and the inside person was Samson. Each 'Samson' put their hands on the 'columns' and  "Go!" They pushed just like Samson. Then, to learn more about their physical strength, they did a couple of push-ups and sit-ups.

They get so excited when they come in and see these buzzers! The last night was a general review that included all four lessons. Each lesson (Joseph, Samson, David & Daniel) is on their own page and has 20 questions each. They don't all have to be used, they can be mixed up, you can pick them randomly to use. Click here to download the questions.

The Magnetic Board Visuals are fun because they are different than the standard full page visuals. These are each half-a-page, numbered, color picture. I print on cardstock, cut out and laminate, then add small, flat magnets to the back. I add each visual to a magnetic whiteboard as I teach the lesson. They can used like regular visuals and be held up while teaching, or attached to a large craft stick to use. Click here to print the Magnetic Board Visuals.

  1. Thank you so much for the visuals for this lesson. I already have some flash cards to use to present the lesson to the children, but realized these magnetic visuals would be a perfect way to help the 3-4 year-olds answer review questions. They will be captivated by the pictures and the use of the magnetic board, but at the same time basically hearing the lesson again as I ask them questions. Nothing like repetition. Thank you again!
